My Journey From “One Day” to Today

Living “One Day” Today began as a personal reminder — not as a business plan.

It was a phrase I needed in a season of life when “one day” had become a placeholder for everything I hoped to do but hadn’t started doing yet. Like so many of us, I had dreams, ideas, and creative energy, but I kept waiting for the right time. Eventually, I realized that waiting was the only thing standing in the way.

So I chose to begin!

Back in 2018, my family made a decision that changed how I now approach everything in my life today. We sold and donated most of our belongings, moved into an RV, and committed to living differently — more intentionally, more presently, and with a willingness to learn as we went. That season didn’t turn out the way we originally hoped it would, but it shaped everything that followed.

Living One Day Today became my way of reminding myself that progress doesn’t come from perfect plans. It comes from taking the next step, no matter how small it is!

Learning Through Action

Storytelling has always been a large part of my life. It’s deeply rooted in my family through my ancestors. Through my dad’s side, we are citizens of the Steilacoom Tribe. My father is the former Chairman, and a Storyteller for our People. My eldest daughter has been Storytelling with him since she was seven. While I never embraced that side of Storytelling, I eventually realized that I am a Storyteller – just in a digital form.

What started as curiosity — through video editing, writing, and documenting our family’s travels — quickly turned into something I genuinely love. I discovered that storytelling doesn’t have to happen on a stage. For me, it lives in photos, videos, websites, and written words.

That understanding changed how I view creativity, communication, and connection.

From Passion Projects to Purposeful Work

Before Living One Day Today became a business, it was simply a space for me to explore and create. I used my social media to encourage others to start living their one day. Those experiences led me into more formal work in digital media — first through community-focused projects, and later through working closely with a local small business beginning in 2019.Spending several years supporting one business deeply gave me invaluable experience. I learned what it looks like to build a strong online presence from the ground up — from social media and content creation to websites, analytics, and search engine optimization. I was fortunate to learn through doing, and I developed a strong appetite for understanding why things work, not just how.

SEO, in particular, became something I genuinely geeked out on. At its core, it’s about making your business findable online — helping the right people discover the right business at the right time. When combined with honest storytelling, it becomes a powerful tool for connection rather than digital noise.

Seeing the Bigger Picture

By 2026, one thing has become increasingly clear to me: there are so many small businesses doing incredible work who still feel lost, behind, or disconnected online. More and more of our interactions happen digitally — often before we ever walk through a door or meet someone face to face. I keep seeing videos made by Youtube creators that talk about closed-down businesses. Long past are the days when our youth would hit the mall during their freetime. Black Friday shopping has turned into online shopping and finding as many digital discounts as early as you can. Going out to dinner has turned into having your meal delivered to your front door.

A website, a Google search result, or a social media page is often the first introduction someone has to a business. And when those spaces lack clarity or heart, it’s easy for meaningful stories to get lost.

I realized I want to help more than one business at a time. I want to support people who care deeply about what they’re building — people who value integrity, community, and long-term growth over shortcuts or trends.

That clarity has led me to finally step fully into this work.

Why I’m Here Now

Living One Day Today is no longer just a reminder for myself. It’s the foundation of how I approach helping others.

I believe storytelling and strategy belong together. I believe small businesses deserve an online presence that reflects who they truly are. And I believe that when values align, the work becomes something more than simply a transaction — it becomes a partnership.

I’m not here to offer loud marketing or one-size-fits-all solutions. I’m here to help businesses show up clearly, meaningfully, and with purpose — one step at a time. If you’re building something you care about and you’re looking for support to tell your story in a way that feels aligned and honest, I’m glad you’re here.

Because sometimes, the most important decision we make is to choose to get started on our “one day” today.
